Facts about me
I am from Manchester.
I studied Film, Television and Radio studies at university and aspired to be a screenwriter. Real life has sort of dented that dream a bit, but maybe one day I'll write that script.
I hate bananas, but I like banana milkshake.
I had a poem published in a poetry anthology when I was 12 years old. (I have forgotten most of it, so don’t get me to recite it).
Psyduck is my favourite Pokemon.
The first games console I had was an Atari 2600. Since then I have had a NES, a Sega Master System, a Game Boy, a Commodore 64 (it’s a computer but still counts), a PS1 and a Nintendo 3DS.
I don’t drive and have never even had a driving lesson. I keep meaning to learn, but I’m quite comfortable with letting public transport take me where I want to go at the moment.
I have never been on a plane and I don’t really want to unless it’s necessary to be honest. Whenever anyone asks me why, I say I’m saving the planet 😁.
I have a 1000+ day Duolingo streak from learning Welsh, Swedish, music, maths and chess. No, I don’t know how I managed it either.
The best bargain I have ever bought was a Instax Mini camera for £9. I bought it as camera phones were becoming popular and film photography was dying out (or so they said…)
I share a birthday with Gromit.
I only keep Instagram nowadays to look at photos and watch videos of animals. Mainly dogs, cats, cockatoos, puffins and highland cows.
I often play as Luigi on Mario Kart. Not just because of his death stare, but also because I tend to win a lot with him.
I also used to prefer playing the original Super Mario Bros as Luigi. Luigi is better than Mario, there I said it.
If there is one piece of advice I could give my younger self, I'd tell them not to do A Level German. I enjoyed doing languages at school and did both French and German at GCSE. German A Level was much harder than I anticipated - it was among the hardest subjects at A Level when I studied it, it's probably just as difficult now. I was happy to get any grade in the end as at one point I was convinced I would fail miserably and end up retaking it.
I am quite good at blowing bubblegum bubbles. As I’ve said this, I suppose I’d better bring the receipts
I have a thing for stripey tops. I suppose if I was to come back as an animal, I would be a zebra. (I would prefer to be a sloth).
I own a lot of notebooks.
